Began work on the empennage deck. First drilled the deck holes to a #40. Then opened the holes up to a #30. We had to do a bit of work on the deck width to get it to match the fuse sides. The empennage deck is being built per the plan specs.

Rudder Cable Slots

Rick and I measured, drilled, cut and filed two rudder cable slots in the fuse. We elected to use the alternate attach method for the cables and fabricated a couple of brackets. Last we riveted the brackets to the longerons. Next we plan to install a couple of plates to cover the slots. The plates are from Vans and will be attached with nutplates and screws, should we need to remove in the future for maintenance.
