Ok... here’s the issue. The proximity of the fuel pump drain vent and the firewall clearance are an issue.... just like the RV-4. The fix.... simple (Thanks Tom Martin and Vince Frazier), take an AN3 bolt. Drill it length wise, round off the head, tap the vent casting, screw in the bolt, screw in plug. Now you have a relocated fuel pump vent drain. We finished the mod by grinding the casting down to the line you see drawn on the casting. You will probably have to modify the bottom of the pipe plug by removing material, so the tapped AN3 bolt is able to drain. |
