After carefully laying out the bolt pattern with the rudder in place, we drilled the front spar plate to the horizontal
We opted to beef up the rear spar attach point and fabricated our own angle out of 6061-t6. The new design in corporates 4 longeron bolts and also ties the rear bulkhead in.
Bolts in place both the horizontal and the vertical are now on the ship. We used the string method outlined in the forum and other emails to locate the vertical position. We can verify the twist and kink others are sing in the rear bulkheads.
Our new angle installed against the rear spar of the vertical. This really helped tie the rear of the ship together. We are very pleased with the results.
Here you can see the difference in the gap between the left and right sides of the Vertical spar and the side skins. This is caused by the slight twist in the fuse we and others have noticed. Not a big deal if you realize what the issue is.
Finished product.........finally parts on the plane that we hope not to have to remove again.
